The MEVZA Youth Championships 2010 take place in Debrecen from 28th to 30th
of December in Debrecen/Hungary. In Boy's Competition (born 1993 and younger)
host Hungary, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic and Slovakia take part. In Girl's
competition (born 1994 and younger) are the Netherlands, Czech Republic and
Austria (Pool A) as well as host Hungary, Slovakia and Romania (Pool B) trying
to win the title.
In the group stage of the competition only three sets will be played. One gets 3
points for a 3:0-win, 2 points for a 2:1-win, 1 point for a 1:2-loss, 0 points
for 0:3-loss. The Finals will be played 'best-of-five-sets".
The tournament is part of the preparations of all participants for the 2nd
qualification round of the youth European Championships, that will be played
from 4th to 9th January 2010 in several pools.
